ELECTION OF OFFICERS TO THE BOARD TERM 2021 – 2023

 Instructions for voting: To vote for the nominated candidate, check the box next to their name. To vote for another person check the box next to “Other” and type the name of the person for whom you wish to vote.

All ballots must be received by end of day, September  7, 2021

Votes will be counted and results announced at the annual Membership Meeting and Dinner September 11, 2021 at Mountain Village Resort, Stanley, Idaho.

Catered banquet is from 5:00pm – 6:30pm and the Annual Membership Meeting is 6:45pm – 7:45pm

IWS Annual Meeting Notice

Dear fellow IWS Artists,

We are drawing close to the date of our exciting Annual Meeting in Stanley, on September 10-11.

Here are a few reminders:

  1. If you have not registered at the Mountain Village Resort in Stanley, you might do so ASAP or if they are full, you might want to look elsewhere in and around Stanley.
  2. We have had great response to the Art Show on Saturday the 11th, but there are still about 12 spots left if you’d like to show and sell your paintings.  Two paintings per Artist.  Contact Connie Pepper.
    3.   Art Talks – Saturday Morning – Four of our best artists have volunteered to share their knowledge and experience with us. Make sure you don’t miss these.  Details attached below.
  3. Reservations for dinner Saturday evening at the Mountain Village Resort – Again, contact Connie Pepper if you have not RSVP’d for dinner.  $16 per person, payable at the door.  Menu is an elaborate taco bar and beverages.

IWS Members Attending the IWS Annual Meeting in Stanley

Re:  DINNER at the IWS ANNUAL MEETING:
Please let us know if you plan to attend the annual IWS DINNER and meeting on Saturday, September 11 in Stanley.   We need a head count for our dinner reservation.
There will be a delicious “Taco Bar” provided by the Mountain Village Resort.
Your cost for dinner is $16.00, payable at the door.

Re:  ART SHOW
There is still room available if you would like to participate in the Art Show during the Annual Meeting in Stanley on Friday September 10!

Here are the details to participate in the art show!
• You must attend the annual meeting to participate in the art show.
• The art show will be a limited to 30 painters.
• Each qualified artist may bring two pieces of artwork that are no larger than a half sheet each.
• Artists will be responsible to set up and take down their artwork. Set up is between
2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 in the Velvet Falls Ballroom at the resort.
• Artists are responsible to bring easels to display their work. (Floor easels are best, but
there will be limited table space for small table easels.)
• Artists are responsible for their own sales. Be prepared to take cash, check or credit
cards.
• Take down is the responsibility of the artist and art must be removed from the Velvet
Falls Ballroom between 7:30-8:30 p.m. the evening of the show.

Sign up for the art show is required by August 25 so planning can happen for marketing, space, and refreshments. Please include photos of your artwork for use on social media to promote the event when you email to sign up.

Sign-ups are on a first come first serve basis. In the event we have more than 30 members willing to participate, we will keep a waiting list in case of cancellations, and artists on the waiting list will be notified if a spot becomes available.

Idaho Watercolor Society Annual Meeting

 Your Idaho Watercolor Society Board of Directors is excited about this year’s Annual Meeting.  We have a great weekend planned in an amazing setting.

Activities will include:

  • Member Art Show and Sale sponsored by the Resort on Friday.  Each attending member can bring two (2) paintings for display and sale.  The Resort will provide marketing to the Sun Valley area and refreshments.  More info to come from Connie Pepper, South Central Region Rep.
  • Art Talks by four of our distinguished members will be held on Saturday.  You will not want to miss hearing from Mareth Warren, Lauren Johnson, Sally Cannon Ellis, and Gloria Miller Allen.  More info to come soon on topics and times.  FREE OF CHARGE
  • Annual Banquet and Member Meeting on Saturday evening.  The banquet will be catered and the short meeting will provide a recap of the past year and election of officers.
  • Plein Air painting opportunities. The Stanley Basin is a gem of our state and holding the meeting in this beautiful setting will provide you an opportunity to get out and paint with old friends and new ones you will make that weekend.
  • Hotel Reservations – If you have not already made your reservations for that weekend, do it now.  Rooms will go quickly.  The price is around $110 per night for a room that would accommodate two (2).
