CRITICAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2022 ANNUAL JURIED SHOW
SHIPPING CHANGES
It has come to our attention that arranging for pre-paid return shipping has become difficult and expensive for some areas of the State. To simplify this process, the Show Committee will now handle all return shipping for those out of the Treasure Valley area. The Committee will arrange to return your paintings to the address of your choice once the show is over. We will then send you an email with the amount of your shipping costs and ask that you send a reimbursement check addressed to Idaho Watercolor Society. If you have questions about this new procedure, contact Scott Muscolo, Show Chairman.
INSURANCE FOR YOUR PAINTINGS
The complications of the 2021 accident which destroyed your traveling show paintings have made us aware that there should be insurance on artwork when it is out of your possession. Because IWS does not own these paintings, we are not allowed to insure them for your declared value. Therefore, we recommend you contact your homeowner’s insurance agent to determine if your paintings are covered under that policy or if you might want to add a rider for the timeframe your paintings are traveling.
VARNISHED PAINTINGS
There has recently been significant interest in varnishing watercolor paintings. After discussion at the February Board Meeting, it was determined there is nothing in our prospectus addressing this process. The Show Committee has no objection to submitting varnished work and is contacting our juror to determine if this process could impact her jurying decisions. Communication will be sent out to all members upon hearing from our juror.
